CALCULATION OF STAGGER DISTANCE FORMULA FOR STANDARD AND NON STANDARD 400 METERS TRACK

 Calculation of Stagger Distance formula

for Non-standard track

With of the Lane : 1.22 mts

W(N- 1) 2

= 1.22 ( 2-1) x 2 x

= 7.6668                   II Lane = 7.67 mts

Calculation of Stagger Distance for

standard track

 W(N- 1)-.10 x 2

= 1.22 ( 2-1)- .10 x 2 x

= 1.12x 2x 22 =          II Lane = 7.04 mts

Formula for Lane Number : II To find out the full stagger Distance

Full Stagger + ( RDR of Given lane + 1.12 – RDR of the first lane ) 2

Finding out the CDR and RDR and Marking

CONCEPT OF STAGGER: Stagger is a word used in Athletics. It is only used in track events.

Stagger is the change in starting line and end line fair equal for all participants.

EXPLANATION: Stagger is the excess distance covered by the runner from 2nd lane to 8th lane on their running path in one lap, when compared to the distance covered by the first lane runner on his running path in one lap.

 Formula for find out the stagger  standard track

                  W(n-1) -0.10  x 2

(W= width of lane n= lane number)

Thus, w(n-1)-.10 x 2  is the formula to calculate the stagger distance of a lane.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

THE FORMULA FOR STAGGER

Half stagger W(n-1) x - 0.10  (for one curved and one straight or 200m)

Full stagger  W(n-1) x-0.10 2  ( for one full standard track)

Finding out the CDR and RDR for the Length of the Straight is 84.39 meters in the 400 meters standard track with kerb raised border.

RDR ( Running distance Radius)

CDR (Curve Distance Radius) or (Marking distance Radius)

Length of the Straight     = 84.39

Each straight = 84.39 + 84.39 = 168.78

Both curve length   = 400 -168.78 = 231. 22

One Curve = 231.22/2 = 115.61

2            = 231.22

                 = 22x 7

RDR = 36.80

CR =    36.80- .30cm

 CDR= 36.50

Finding out the CDR and RDR for the Length of the Straight is 84.39 meters in the 400 meters  Non- standard  track no kerb without raised border.

RDR ( Running distance Radius)

CDR (Curve Distance Radius) or (Marking distance Radius)

Length of the Straight     = 84.39

Each straight = 84.39 + 84.39 = 168.78

Both curve length   = 400 -168.78 = 231. 22

One Curve = 231.22/2 = 115.61

2            = 231.22

                 = 22x 7

RDR = 36.80

CR =    36.80- .20

 CDR= 36.60

Finding out the CDR and RDR  Length of the Straight is 40 meters in the 200 meters  Non- standard  track no kerb without raised border.

RDR ( Running distance Radius)

CDR (Curve Distance Radius) or (Marking distance Radius)

Length of the Straight     = 40

Each straight = 40 + 40 = 80

Both curve length   =  60 + 60 = 120

One Curve = 60

Two curve  =120/2 =60

2            = 120

                 = 22x 7

RDR = 19.09

CDR =    19.89
